Merry Christmas!

Today is the last day in my twelve days of Blogmas. I thought the perfect way to end Blogmas would be by doing the 12 Days of Christmas book tag! Here are my answers:

On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me: a partridge in a pear tree.

The partridge stood alone in the pear tree. What is your favorite stand alone?

The Unexpected Everything

I have so many favorite stand alones, but one of my favorites from this year would have to be The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson. The story was so cute and I loved all of the dogs!

On the second day of Christmas my true love sent to me: two turtle doves.

Love is in the air! Who is your one true pairing?

The Winner's Curse (The Winner's Trilogy, #1)

Usually, I don’t really like when YA dystopian books that heavily rely on a romance plot. However, I loved Kestrel and Arin’s story in The Winner’s Curse. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series to see how their story ends!

On the third day of Christmas my true love sent to me: three french hens.

In the spirit of threes, what is the best trilogy that you’ve read?

me as katniss

I’m not sure if it is the best trilogy that I’ve ever read, but it definitely got me hooked on YA trilogies. I definitely have to love it for that!

On the fourth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: four calling birds.

Since a series usually consists of four or more books, what is your favorite series?

I haven’t finished this series (but I did find out my library has Winter as an ebook!), but it ranks as one of my favorite series so far.

On the fifth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: five golden rings.

One ring to rule them all! Who is your favorite villain/antagonist?

Queen Levana from The Lunar Chronicles definitely stands out as one of the most ruthless villains that I’ve read this year. The mother of Elias in An Ember in the Ashes was also pretty ruthless too!

On the sixth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: six geese-a-laying.

Creation is a beautiful thing. What is your favorite world/world building?

Divergent (Divergent, #1)

Divergent didn’t have my favorite world building, but I appreciated how Veronica Roth’s psychology background influenced every aspect of the book!

On the seventh day of Christmas my true love sent to me: seven swans-a-swimming.

Who needs swans when all it takes is one good animal sidekick? Who is your favorite animal sidekick?

bolt

Bertie from The Unexpected Everything was definitely a great sidekick. He acted just like my dog, so I couldn’t help but love him!

On the eighth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: eight maids-a-milking.

Milk is so 18th century. What book takes beverages/food to a whole new level?

Saint Anything

Reading about the pizza in Saint Anything reminds me of my favorite pizza in my hometown. After reading this book, you’ll want to eat a whole pizza by yourself.

On the ninth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: nine ladies dancing.

Dancing is just one skill of a lady! Who is your favorite female lead?

Moving Day (Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls, #1)

I loved reading the first book in the Allie Finkle series by Meg Cabot this summer. Allie Finkle is so spunky and sassy!

On the tenth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: ten lords-a-leaping.

How about your favorite leading lad?

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1)

Percy Jackson from Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief was one of my favorite male leads this year! He was a hilarious main character with a great group of friends.

On the eleventh day of Christmas my true love sent to me: eleven pipers piping.

What is your favorite book or bookish thing with musical influence? (It can be about music, reference music a lot, etc.)?

Just Listen

Just Listen was the first Sarah Dessen book that I’ve read and it is still my favorite book by her! I love how music is incorporated in this book, but above all, I love all of the characters!

On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: twelve drummers drumming.

Drum roll please… what is your favorite read of the year?

Since You've Been Gone

This is a tough one! One of my many favorite books of the year would have to be Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson. It was one of the first books that I read this summer and I really connected with the story. To see all of my favorite books, check out The Brittany Awards here!
