Bookish Christmas Gifts

Looking back to my bookish Christmas post last year, I was worried I wouldn’t get into the holiday spirit since my college finals ended so late. I also worried about a lot of big changes that would happen in my life the next year–graduating college, finding my first “grown-up” job, and starting life outside of school.

Since I survived graduating college, found my first job, and starting enjoying my life outside of school, it was easy to get in the Christmas spirit! This Christmas I had so much fun getting back into the holiday traditions in my town and watching my students at school get excited for winter break. I’m so excited to see what next year holds!

Even though Christmas isn’t about presents, I thought I’d share some of the books and other fun items I will use to decorate m bookshelf. Here are some of the bookish/fun presents I received:

Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone has been on my TBR for awhile! I thought they had this book in my library, but was sad when I realized that I saw it in the store and not my library. That made it the perfect book to put on my Christmas list! I’m interested in reading more books in the young adult world concerning mental health this year. Every Last Word follows a popular girl who struggles with OCD, so it’s definitely one of my to-read list.

I read Wolf by Wolf last year through my library’s e-books and couldn’t wait to get my hands on the sequel. Blood for Blood isn’t in my library’s circulation, so like Every Last Word, I thought it would be a great book to add to my Christmas list. I’m so excited to finish this duology in 2017 since Wolf by Wolf was one of my favorite fantasy books of 2017.

The Lunar Chronicles is one of my favorite young adult series, so I was so excited to hear about her new book! This book features superheroes and even though I haven’t really seen many superhero movies or read many superhero books, I’m hoping to love this book as much as I did Marissa Meyer’s other books.

Now onto some fun presents I’ll use to decorate my book shelf! My family learned how much I love Funko Pop figures, so they decided to go all out and pick out some that I thought I would enjoy. Since all of the figures are Disney princesses, I was definitely excited to receive them!

For my Ariel and Pocahontas pocket pops, I will probably rotate them between my key fob and my book shelf.

This Aurora figure is so cute! It’s a little hard to see in the picture, but Aurora has sparkles on her skirt which makes this figure even more fun. I can definitely see Aurora standing with some of my fun colored contemporary books.

I LOVE this Pocahontas figure. This is actually one I hadn’t seen in stores around me, so I was surprised (but happy) to find it under my tree.

Tiana is my favorite Disney princess (I was literally made sure to be the first person in line to meet her in Disney World), so it makes me so happy to add her to my bookshelf. I think her blue dress would look really nice next to Renegades!

I absolutely love this Snow White figurine. Everything besides her face and eyes are covered in glitter. She will really shine on my bookshelf!

Even though I didn’t receive this for Christmas, I did manage to snag these two Elf figures at my Target’s after Christmas sale for half-off. I also found a few Christmas tsum tsums. These will be great to decorate my shelves with during Christmas next year!
