Every year, I complete the Goodreads reading challenge where I challenge myself to read a certain number of books in a year. In a recent bookish resolutions post, I decided to read at least 25 books in 2020. Recently, I revised my Goodreads goal to only 20 books in 2020. Here’s why:
- I like how 20 books in 2020 sounds. Even though I hope to read more than 20 books in 2020, it was irritating me that my goal was 25 books in 2020.
- We’re halfway through January… and I haven’t finish a book yet. Last year was my worst reading year since I started my blog and it looks like my slump has carried into the new year. While I hope my reading this year surpasses my reading year from last year, I am off to a slow start.
- I have several other goals this year that take up a lot of free time. In my New Year’s resolution post, I mentioned how I want to work on writing a lot more. Since that takes a lot of time, it leaves less time to read books.
How many books do you plan to read in 2020?

I posted about my year of reading in 2019 and 2020 Goodreads Reading Challenge recently on my blog, if you’d like to read it! I am aiming to read 175 books 🙂

Good luck on your goal! My GR goal is 100 books, but I should read more than that.
